Dewey Roderick Earnhardt, 87, of Vero Beach, passed away on Nov. 18, 2015.
He is survived by his daughter Ellen Haffield of Fort Pierce; son John Earnhardt and Glen Newland of Vero Beach; grandsons Brian Earnhardt, Benjamin Earnhardt, Eric and Steven Slusser, Todd Goldstein, and Jason Haffield all of Fort Pierce; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Lou Earnhardt, daughter Melanie Slusser, son Daniel Earnhardt, and grandson Brian Goldstein.
Earnhardt was born in West Palm Beach and has been a lifelong resident of Florida.
He was a World War II Veteran. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines / United States Coast Guard.
Earnhardt was an avid reader. He also enjoyed the mountains of North Carolina, his family at home and church, as well as fishing and sailing.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, with a potluck reception to follow.
