Marilyn Setnan, 83, Vero Beach

Marilyn Setnan, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away.

She is survived by her four children; four grandchildren Jay, Jennifer, Thomas, Marcus, and three more Vincent, Robbie and Angela; and two great-grandchildren Alexis and Jaxon; and in-law children John, Christie, Nancy and James.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roland Setnan, and great-grandchild Jonathan.

Setnan was a housewife and home maker originally from the Chicago area.

She served as Girl Scout leader, and trip chaperone in her daughter Barbara’s troop. She was an elementary and junior high school library volunteer during son Michael and Richard’s school days, also serving as junior high school PTA Treasurer then PTA President.

Setnan was an avid sports enthusiast supporting son Robert and Michael during their years playing football, baseball and basketball, often the loudest supporter in the stands. She later worked for 10 years at a local municipality, helping put her children through college.

During retirement in Vero Beach, Setnan volunteered at Trinity Treasures raising funds to serve the needy for several years, and served in the church office and assisted dear friend Ginny Gridley in the church library. Later, she volunteered at Heaven Sent resale shop also benefiting the needy. She was also a Women’s Club member, and exuberant member of the “Splinter Group” a gathering of ladies who lunched and made charitable donations to local children groups.
