Maestro Collins discusses composers behind Masterworks Series Sept. 5

VERO BEACH — The Conductor and Artistic Director for the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra (SCSO) will go “inside the Music” on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Center, 2140 14th Avenue, Vero Beach.

Aaron Collins, a “LEAD Brevard 4 Under 40” winner, examines the lives and struggles of the composers and their works scheduled for the SCSO’s 2015-16 Masterworks Series.

Composers touched on in the discussion will be Mussorgsky, Ravel, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Bach, Mozart and Haydn. Informative and engaging, Maestro Collins presents a tour through music theory and guided listening, examining the compositions in their historical, political, and cultural context.
