INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Indian River County and north central St. Lucie County until 9:45 p.m.
Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. The storm is located near Vero Beach and is moving southeast at 15 mph.
Locations impacted include Vero Beach, Indian River Shores, Winter Beach, and Indrio.
Residents are encouraged to take the following precautions as storms could produce damaging winds, destructive hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain:
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business;
Use caution while driving as rain could flood roads quickly – do not drive into areas where water covers the road.
