Indian River State College highlights Duke Ellington in summer musical revue

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River State College (IRSC) Performing and Visual Arts Department is presenting their summer musical revue “An Evening with Ellington” featuring the IRSC Musical Theater students and Dance Ensemble on June 4-6 at 7 p.m. and June 6 at 2 p.m. at the McAlpin Fine Arts Center on the IRSC Main Campus in Fort Pierce.

Duke Ellington was one of the most iconic figures in 20th Century fine arts who created music by fusing multiple traditions, including gospel, jazz and swing.

Enjoy the music of this legendary composer in a delightful musical revue that features memorable selections as “Satin Doll,” “Nature Boy,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing, If It Ain’t Got that Swing.”
