Suncoast Mental Health Center holds open house for new location May 14

VERO BEACH — After outgrowing their old space on 27th Avenue, Suncoast Mental Health Center moved into their new, larger space in January 2015. On May 14, 2015, the Center will be open to the public for an Open House from 4 to 7 p.m.

Tours of the facility, information on services provided, refreshments and entertainment will be available during the open house. The Center is located at 1456 Old Dixie Highway in beautiful Vero Beach. It serves as one of four locations that the organization has throughout the Treasure Coast.

In addition to the open house activities, the Center will feature a documentary film produced by Vero Beach resident Ann Zugelter entitled Finding Peace Amid the Chaos. The film chronicles the life of Ted Zugelter, her son, who was diagnosed at a late age with bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia. Ted Zugelter succumbed to the illness in 2010. Since that time, Ann Zugelter has been an advocate for mental health services in the state and locally.

Suncoast Mental Health Center is currently serving more than 250 clients in Indian River County. Services are provided in schools, homes, and in Suncoast’s office suites. Since 1998, Suncoast Mental Health Center has been providing clinical and case management services to children, families, and adults who are considered to be at-risk and of limited income. Suncoast Mental Health Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
