County recreation department puts on 3 specialty egg hunts

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Recreation Department will be hosting three free “specialty” Egg Hunts as a part of the “Egg” stravaganza Festival week this spring. These hunts will be held throughout the entire county. One of the hunts will be held in a swimming pool, the other two will be held in the dark.

In North County, the North County Aquatic Center, 9450 95th Street, Sebastian, will be the location for the “water egg hunt” on March 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The children’s swimming area will be covered in plastic Easter Eggs that will float on the water’s surface for the children to scoop up. Please remember to bring swimsuits and towels. No plastic bags will be permitted.

In Central County, the Gifford Youth Activities Center (GYAC), 4875 43rd Avenue, Gifford, will host an indoor flashlight egg hunt on March 31, starting at 7:45 p.m.

The lights in the gym of the GYAC will be turned off and the flashlights will be turned on during this very special egg hunt. Please remember to bring a flashlight and a basket for this hunt.

In South County, the South County Park, 800 20th Ave SW, will be the location of an outdoor flashlight egg hunt, on April 2, beginning at 7:45 p.m. This hunt at Dick Bird Park promises to be the most unique and largest egg hunt on the Treasure Coast. The “Egg” stravaganza will start at 7:45 p.m. and prizes will be awarded to all participants. Golden Eggs and special Easter Baskets will be given in all age groups. Please remember to bring a flashlight and a basket to this hunt.
