LunaFest short film event comes to Harbor Branch Feb. 28

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — LunaFest, a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for and about women – will come to FAU Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute’s (HBOI) Johnson Education Center, 5600 U.S. 1 North, in Fort Pierce, on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the national Breast Cancer Fund and local organizations, including Friends After Diagnosis, the Treasure Coast Ovarian Cancer Alliance, the Center for Spiritual Care, and HBOI’s Marine Biomedical and Biotechnology Research program (MBBR).

The 90-minute compilation of award-winning short films will be preceded by a 60-minute panel discussion about advances in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers affecting women. Amy Wright, Ph.D., MBBR director and research professor, is one of the panelists.

Tickets are $20 plus a $2.09 service charge, and can be purchased online at www.lunafest.org. A LunaFest trailer can also be viewed on the website.
