SEBASTIAN — A driver of a scooter has died after being involved in a crash around 2 p.m. near the Whispering Palms RV and mobile home park in Sebastian on US 1, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
George Brillhart, 67, of Sebastian, died following the crash, which occurred when he exited the mobile home park on a 2014 Honda Scooter, according to authorities.
Brillhart was attempting to go north when he failed to yield the right of way and pulled directly in front of Michael Carr’s 1996 Honda Civic.
Carr, 24, also of Sebastian, attempted to slow his speed, according to FHP, but the front of his vehicle struck the left side of the scooter.
Brillhart was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
