FELLSMERE — The U.S. Navy Armed Guard and Merchant Marine meeting will be held at Marsh Landing Restaurant, 44 North Broadway, Fellsmere, on Dec. 20, 9 a.m.
The speaker will be one of the group’s own, Jim Newman of Vero Beach. He has some interesting information on the Federation of Mobile Owners. A lot of members live in manufactured homes, making Newman a great resource.
Meetings have recently been starting late, sometimes causing other groups to have to wait. Try to arrive early as the kitchen gets very busy at that time in the morning.
During the Nov. 15, meeting, the waitress delivered a note that read, “Happy Thanksgiving lunch is on us.” The group extends a “Thank you and God bless you” to the kind person who paid for breakfast that day.
Come and enjoy the camaraderie of old shipmates and meet new people. Everyone is welcome at the meetings and all are encouraged to bring a friend. The group includes members from all branches of the service as well as sons and daughters, widows and widowers of those who served.
