Harvest Food and Outreach hosts wellness fair

VERO BEACH — Harvest Food and Outreach Center’s Health & Wellness Fair is slated for Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harvest’s Life Enrichment Center at 2746 US Highway 1 in Vero Beach. The fair is open to the public and free of charge.

A luncheon featuring Dr. Deepti Sadhwani of Quality Health Care and Wellness, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food, does this still hold true?” will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Maison Martinique will provide a complimentary buffet lunch for up to 40 guests.

Sixteen health and wellness organizations will provide a variety of free testing and screening services, in addition to providing information about services available in the community for low-income families and individuals.

Featured are HIV, diabetes and blood pressure testing provided by Indian River County Health Department and Treasure Coast Community Health. One Blood will be on site conducting a blood drive and Indian River Dentistry will be distributing free tooth paste and brushes.

Other participants featuring interactive and informational demonstrations include Indian River Podiatry, AARP, Care Net Pregnancy Center, Indian River Sheriff Office, IRMC Partners in Women’s Health, New Horizons of the Treasure Coast, Indian River Supervisor of Elections, Indian River Healthy Start Coalition and Sebastian River Medical Center.
