Walta Nason, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Oct. 29, 2014.
She is survived by her loving sister, Hilda Hull Wilkinson; her three children, Richard Nason, Jr., Jay Nason (Griselda) and Sandy Nason Beasley (Walter G.); seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard.
Nason was affectionately known as Tinky.
She was born in Plant City, Fla., on Sept. 13, 1930.
She married her best friend, Richard Nason, in 1954.
The Nason’s made their home in Pahokee, Fla., before moving to Vero Beach in 1989.
She was a teacher for many years and later a principal at Glades Day School in Belle Glade, Fla. Upon moving to Vero Beach she and her husband owned and operated Freedom Travel, Inc. for a number of years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vero Beach.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Port Mayaca Cemetery in Port Mayaca, Florida.
