Salvation Army seeking volunteer bell ringers ahead of holidays

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY —The Salvation Army of Indian River County in Vero Beach is in need of volunteer bell ringers for the 2014 Red Kettle Campaign kicking off Nov. 20. In an effort to help families in need during the upcoming Christmas season The Salvation Army of IRC is planning on having 100 percent volunteers ring the bell this 2014 Red Kettle Season.

This goal is to insure that the organization stretches every dollar it receives to the maximum to help those less fortunate during the Christmas Season. The group needs as many volunteers as possible to cover 2-hour shifts at more than 15 locations throughout Indian River County.

Some of the locations include Publix, Wal-Mart, Winn Dixie, The Post Office, Sam’s Club, and Village Beach Market. Hours of ringing are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at most locations.

Churches, civic organizations, companies, schools, service clubs and others can adopt a kettle location for the entire 5-week campaign and volunteer to ring the bell and help those less fortunate during the greatest giving time of year.
