Narcotics search warrant yields heroin, meth, gun

GIFFORD — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) unit executed a search warrant that netted methamphetamine, heroin, “Molly,” and a pistol in the Gifford community. 

The search warrant was served in the 3800 block of 44th Place during the early morning hours of Saturday, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release. 

Deandre Love, 32, of Gifford, was arrested and faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in heroin and methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives located 12.5 grams of methamphetamine, 6 grams of heroin, 5 grams of the drug known as “Molly,” a loaded .40-caliber Taurus handgun, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia including digital scales, and 12.5 grams of an unidentified substance, at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The unidentified substance will be sent to the Indian River Crime Laboratory for processing and identification.

Love is being held at the Indian River County Jail without bond.
