Art Museum announces Juried Student Exhibition winners

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Indian River County Juried Student Exhibition is an annual presentation at the Vero Beach Museum of Art is designed to showcase the art work produced by the county’s middle and high school art education programs.

Each art teacher can submit the works of their top four students – creating an exhibition of the best examples of artistic achievement. The juried exhibition is open to the students of all art educators teaching middle and high school visual arts in public, charter, independent and home school settings within the county.

This year, there were more than 70 entries from 11 participating middle and high schools in the competition.

The awards ceremony took place on April 26 honoring every student featured in the exhibition. The 2014 judge for the competition was Museum Art School faculty member Kimberly Weissenborn-Lopez. She is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and has taught art to all age groups for over 25 years. Kim’s distinctive watercolors can be found in collections throughout Florida, as well as around the U.S., and abroad.

The 2014 student exhibition is on view in the Patten Community Gallery at the Vero Beach Museum of Art through Sunday May 25. The Museum is located at 3001 Riverside Park Drive in Vero Beach.
