Ben Stewart, 82, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 24, 2014.
He is survived by his sons, Frank Stewart, Kevin Stewart, and Kenny Stewart; brothers, William “Bill” Stewart, and Jacob Stewart; sister Louise Hudson; and two grandsons.
Stewart was in the military, serving in Germany, until retiring at age 34.
In 1965, he moved to Fort Pierce, where he started his own business, Ben Stewart Sand Mines.
In 1991, Stewart decided to retire to Franklin, N.C. After enjoying his retirement, he decided to move to Vero Beach in 1994.
Stewart enjoyed ballroom dancing on his cruise trips, walking on the beach, and volunteering for Christian ministries.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8, at Christ by the Sea, 3755 Hwy. A1A, Vero Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Christ by the Sea, 3755 Hwy. A1A, Vero Beach, FL 32963.
