Another arrest stems from Vero Beach meth lab

VERO BEACH — Daniella Morlanne, 47, has been arrested after the Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) shut down a meth lab last week in the 1400 block of 39th Ave., according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

Morlanne faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine and is being held at the Indian River County Jail on $35,000 bond, according to authorities. She was arrested Thursday at the same location of the lab that was producing meth.

Det. Chris Vasquez of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office M.A.C.E. Unit described the manufacture process as a “one-pot” style lab, according to a press release. Two reaction vessels were recovered, along with a gas generator and approximately three grams of methamphetamine believed to be manufactured in the home.

“We are proud of the work of our M.A.C.E. Unit and our partners at the D.E.A. This dangerous situation has resulted in the arrest of two subjects that are now safely behind bars,” said Sheriff Deryl Loar.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — During a separate investigation, detectives from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office discovered items related to the makings of a meth lab, according to Eric Flowers, media spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

While inside the residence, detectives observed items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine, according to authorities. Out of an abundance of caution, the residence was evacuated and detectives were examined by Indian River Fire Rescue to ensure no signs or symptoms of exposure were present.

Shayne Lavery, 43, was arrested at the scene according to authorities. Lavery was wanted on charges of robbery, burglary with battery, and grand theft. He is being held on $500,000 bond at the Indian River County Jail.

The Drug Enforcement Agency is expected to be on scene sometime Thursday afternoon. There is no imminent danger to any surrounding houses, according to Flowers.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) unit will continue to investigate and awaits the approval of a search warrant, according to authorities. Detectives are expected to search the residence in the afternoon hours.
