Richard Morgan, 67, of Vero Beach, passed away on Jan. 31, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Morgan; sons, Rahshard Morgan, Quentin Morgan, and Christopher Morgan; daughter, Rickivah Morgan; mother, Christene Morgan; brothers, James Morgan and Dean Mosley; sisters, Calenthia Simmons, Gloria Scott, Vera Byrd, and Jocelyn Darrisaw; and six grandchildren.
Morgan was born on Jan. 30, 1947, in Vero Beach, a native of Indian River County.
He attended the public schools of Indian River County and is a graduate of Gifford High School Class of 1966. He furthered his education at Indian River Community College and FAU where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He went on to receive his Master Degree at Nova University.
He was employed with Saint Lucie County School Board as an Assistant Principal. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., American Legion Post #181, and the Gifford Cemetery Committee.
Morgan was a master griller and a traveler.
He was a member of Mount Zion AME Church where he served on the Steward Board and Finance Committee.
Visitation will be Friday Feb. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Mount Zion AME Church, in Gifford. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday Feb. 8, at Central Assembly Church, Vero Beach. Burial will follow at Gifford Cemetery.
