Whole Child receives grant monies from Publix

VERO BEACH — Whole Child Indian River is pleased to announce it has received a $1,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities. Whole Child will use these funds to support the program’s mission of nurturing and developing thriving children by connecting families to a network of community resources.

Whole Child offers a web-based program designed to give Indian River families better access to community services.

Through the website www.WholeChildIRC.org, families can complete a “profile” to receive a custom report of services specific to their needs, and users can connect to hundreds of local resources. The website is free, easy, confidential, and convenient.

“Since our launch in February 2012, Whole Child Indian River has already made an impact on the lives of our county’s residents. Over 7,000 service needs have been suggested by profile analysis, and more than 17,000 users have accessed important program information,” explained Kelley Williams, Whole Child executive director.

“While we are excited by the results, there are still thousands more in our county who need the assistance Whole Child offers,” Williams added.

“The generous support of Publix Super Markets Charities will allow us to further develop the program and help more families get connected to the resources they need,” said Elizabeth Swann, Junior League of Indian River, board member.

Whole Child Indian River seeks to engage the entire community in a commitment to our youngest residents because we recognize their future, and ours, hinges on ensuring the best start for every child.
