Treasure Coast Food Bank celebrates local volunteers

TREASURE COAST — Treasure Coast Food Bank held a barbecue at their headquarters to recognize the hundreds of volunteers who help in the fight against hunger. The event was in honor of National Volunteer Month, but Treasure Coast Food Bank CEO Judith Cruz says the volunteers are celebrated all year round.

“Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization, and we are so thankful for their continued support. We rely on their help to be able to provide millions of pounds of food to over 200 charitable organizations in Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties, serving those in need,” said Judith Cruz, CEO of the Treasure Coast Food Bank.

Treasure Coast Food Bank is the largest hunger relief agency on the Treasure Coast. In addition to food distribution, they provide numerous programs that not only solve the immediate problems of hunger, but help individuals and families gain long-term food security.
