Free dinner and parenting workshop for families

VERO BEACH — All parents and children are welcome to attend the Parent Academy Workshop event entitled Prevent Summer Brain Drain.

The free dinner and program, offered by Connected 4 Kids, will be held at Pelican Island Elementary School on Tuesday, April 23, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Please RSVP the number of adults and children online at http://Goo.gl/qGTpe or call (772) 231-5799.

Since all young people experience learning loss in math and reading when they do not engage in educational activities over the summer, and since parents consistently cite summer as the most difficult time to ensure their children have productive things to do, representatives from local organizations will not only discuss their programs, but also provide ideas and resources for keeping your child engaged during the summer months.

All parents and children are welcome. There will be a free dinner at 5:30 p.m. with break-out sessions at 6 p.m. for adults, youth K-2, 3-5 and 6-12 grades.

This event is brought to the community by Connected 4 Kids Coalition of Indian River County and sponsored in part by Tobacco Free Partnership of Indian River County, School District of Indian River County, CASTLE, Teaching Safe Parenting, and Vero Beach FLASH.
