BUZZ: Social Media and politics, yes or no?

Do you post about politics 24/7? Do you have nothing but Fox or MSNBC links on your facebook page? Then you might be missing out on staying in touch with your friends and family.

Personally, I don’t inundate my followers with my political views when I turn to social media. It’s not that I cower from my political beliefs; I just treat my accounts as a way to keep in touch with others as well as a place for entertainment.

Now, for those of you who are political social media junkies, I don’t see much wrong with that either. But, if we’re connected via social media and you wonder why I don’t know your ever post, it’s probably because I’ve limited what you share with me because I don’t want to see it.

And before anyone asks, I don’t care if the person is right, left, or center in their views. It’s just information I don’t care to keep up on. I have CNN and the USA Today for that, at least for the national headlines.

Even if the connection is talking about local politics, where that might interest me more, I would hope working for a local news company that I know what they’re talking about already or will, soon enough.

What do you think? Do you share your political beliefs on a social media platform? Or do you think that some share too much in this world of 24/7, already talking about 2016?
