Champion Home Health Care offers free resource library for patients and caregivers

VERO BEACH — Champion Home Health Care has partnered with the Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Association of the Treasure Coast to provide a resource library for the community.

Filled with the latest books on Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Huntington’s Chorea, Myasthenia Gravis, and Multiple Sclerosis, the library is available for local patients and caregivers at Champion’s offices located at 840 19th St. in Vero Beach.

The books may be leisurely reviewed at Champion’s office or borrowed for two weeks, free of charge.

To date, there are nearly 40 books in the library, with more being added regularly. Some titles include: The 36 Hour Day – A Family Guide for Alzheimer’s, Alzheimer’s Caregiving, Take Charge of Parkinson’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis – Guide by Hiroshi Mitsumoyo M.D., Learning to Live with Huntington’s Disease, The Mysterious Illness – Myasthenia Gravis, and 100 Questions & Answers about Multiple Sclerosis.

“When Pat Sacco from the Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Association of the Treasure Coast approached Champion about being the home for the resource library, we knew it would be a perfect fit for us,” explained Tom Michaels, owner of Champion Home Health Care.

“We strive to provide services above and beyond for not just our clients, but also for the community, and the library is yet another way we can reach out to those in need,” added Michaels.

In addition to this resource library, Champion has several Registered Nurses and Physical Therapists who can help guide the caregiver and patient.

Champion’s office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
