Author Leslie McGuirk to speak at Art Club meeting March 1

VERO BEACH —  Artist and author Leslie McGuirk will be speaking at the Vero Beach Art Club general meeting on “The Quest for Inspiration,” her relationship to art as it speaks to her from the world around her. Her talk, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1 at the Vero Beach Museum of Art Leonhardt Auditorium.

McGuirk is the author of a series of nationally and internationally successful “Tucker” dog themed children’s books and just released the highly successful “If Rocks Could Sing” book to rave reviews.

In addition to being a highly sought after author and speaker, she also has a line of textile graphics and is famous in Japan, New York and L.A. for illustrations of her character “Tucker,” the canine equivalent to “Miss Kitty” abroad and in cities across the U.S.

She is also currently working on an Interactive eBook about the further adventures of Wiggens the Chocolate Lab Puppy making friends at the San Diego Zoo. This is a first project of its kind that is being created specifically as an eBook.

The Vero Beach Art Club holds a general meeting and artist demonstration the first Thursday of each month and invites a variety of artists to speak on various subjects.

The meeting will begin with a half hour social time from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by approximately a half hour of club business, followed by the demonstrator/speaker.
