John Trerice, 95, Sebastian

John Trerice, 95, died Feb. 7, 2012, at Sebastian River Medical Center.

He was born in Saginaw, Mich., and lived in Sebastian for 35 years, coming from Pontiac, Mich.

Before retirement, he had been a time study engineer for Pontiac Motors.

During World War II, he was a master sergeant in the Army Air Forces, serving as a crew chief for B-24 Bombers in the African Theatre.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mildred Steele Trerice, of Sebastian; daughter, Mary Trerice, of Plainfield, Vt.; son, the Rev. John Trerice, of Manitou Beach, Mich.; stepdaughters, Sue Bishop, of Troy, Mich., Anne VanZandt, of Boyne, Mich.; sister, Elline Sheldon, of Whitemore Lake, Mich., and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Stubbe, and sister, Alice Pier.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 2506 17th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 9, at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, with a celebration of life at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Trerice officiating.

Interment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Park Mausoleum in Palm Bay.
