High School Performing Arts Department to present Deck the Halls concert

VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Department will present their annual Deck the Halls holiday concerts on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 pm and Monday, Dec. 12 at 7 pm in the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center, 1707 16th Street, Vero Beach.

The concert will include several traditional pieces like Carol of the Drum, Themes from the Nutcracker, Twelve Days of Christmas, Up on the House Top, Jingle Bells plus selections by Percy Grainger as well as contemporary arrangements including Mother Earth by David MasLanka, led by James Sammons and Page Howell.

Other tunes performed by the VBHS Jazz Band include Greensleeves and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

The VBHS Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Away in a Manger, as well as original arrangements led by Matt Stott.

The performance will also feature the VBHS Concert and Show Choirs with some beautiful tunes such as Let Heaven and Nature Sing, Hanukkah Flame, I’ll be Home for Christmas and other carols, led by Gregory Harris and Karen Wiggins as accompanist.
