Complaints lead to 4 drug arrests in 2 county neighborhoods

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — As a result of multiple citizens’ complaints about possible drug activity in their neighborhoods, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people last week and could arrest more pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

On Tuesday night, Nov. 15, detectives from the county’s Multi Agency Criminal Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at the home of Ryan M. Furst, 28, of 2340 10th Road SW.

This investigation was in response to complaints from concerned citizens about drug activity in their neighborhood.

An arrest warrant was also served on Furst for a previous sale of prescription narcotics to an undercover officer. During the execution of the search warrant, Furst was found to be in possession of additional narcotics for which he did not have a prescription.

He was booked into the county jail and is being held on $50,000 bond.

On Wednesday night, MACE detectives served a search warrant at the home of Neil LeMaster, 47, of 5290 21st St., netting three arrests, including that of LeMaster.

LeMaster was arrested for sale of Oxycodone within 1,000 feet of a church, a first degree felony. These charges stem from previous sales to undercover officers. He is being held in the county jail on $200,000 bond.

Paul Wilder, 41, was served with an arrest warrant for sale of Oxycodone within 1,000 feet of a church from a previous sale to an undercover officer. He is being held on $100,000 bond.

And Ashley Michalski, 26, was found to be in possession of hypodermic needles and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a first degree misdemeanor.

The investigation at 21st Street was in response to frequent complaints from neighbors about drug activity. Although three arrests were made, additional arrests are expected as officials investigate other drug sales at the home.
