SEBASTIAN — With the first game of the season on the horizon the Sebastian River High School Touchdown Club has started raising funds.
Money raised through last night’s bowling event at Vero Bowl will go towards paying for transportation, equipment, plus before and after meals.
Bowlers paid $12 which got them three games and shoe rental.
Football players and supporters bowled together to help raise the money.
“Once (the players) get along with each other they’ll fight harder for one another,” said Coach Chris Jefferson.
Future fund raising events include a “Shark Football” Scramble Golf Tournament at the Sebastian Municipal Golf Course July 16 with registration at 7 a.m. and beginning at 8 a.m.
Other donation opportunities include bucket drops at the Sebastian Winn Dixie June 25, July 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
More than 60 attended the bowling event, raising over $300 for the club.
