Sebastian Chamber Golf Tournament a swinging success

SEBASTIAN — The Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce 20th Annual Golf Tournament was a great success. Sunny weather provided a perfect day of golf at the Sebastian Municipal Golf Course and the opportunity to mingle with many of Sebastian area business associates.  

100 golfers gathered in support of this Chamber event, chaired by Chuck Mechling and Ed Moore, and played their best in hopes of winning one of the many donated prizes

The ‘Coveted Pelican Cup’ was awarded to 1st Place Sponsor PNC Bank. This prestigious award will be displayed at their local Sebastian branches. 1st Place Overall was awarded to Sebastian/Brevard Parks, led by team captain Chris McCarthy.  2nd Place Overall was awarded to Preuss Appraisal, led by team captain Adam Preuss and 3rd Place Overall was awarded to Marshal Engineering, led by team captain Bob Marshall.

Players were also recognized for their talent in the Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin challenges. Longest Drive Male was awarded to Bud Zeilinski of St. Sebastian Church; Kristi Worley of Waste Management won Longest Drive Female. Closest to the Pin Male went to Bryan Cichewicz of Sherwin Williams, and Amy Selby of Spring Hill Suites Marriot won Closest to the Pin Female.

In recognition was also given to The Wells Fargo team lead by Margie Duffell as the Highest Scoring team, which received Art Lessons donated by City Council and Sebastian Art Club member Richard Gillmor.

Now, more than ever, it is important for our business community to come together, support each other and create an environment that ensures success and prosperity for everybody. This tournament was an event that helped to support the efforts of the Chamber to accomplish this mission.
