James Joseph Michael Fleming, Vero Beach

James Joseph Michael Fleming, of Vero Beach, died May 14, 2011.

Fleming migrated to Key Largo and most recently to Vero Beach, after living in Chicago, Philadelphia and Miami.

Survivors include his wife, Susan  of 30 years; sons, Michael and James; daughters, Mary Jo and Susan; step-daughter, Debbie; step-son, Scott; ten grandchildren; many nieces and nephews in Chicago and California; his mother-in-law, Shirley Clapp; his ex-wife Alice; and Ginger the chow chow.

A memorial service will be held at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach on Tuesday, June 14th at noon with a celebration of his life to follow at his home in Vero Beach.

A second memorial service will be held in the fall at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Chicago.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.

‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life. Man shot after charging at deputy with small sword

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 29-year-old man who was shot by a deputy after charging at the officer with a small sword, was hospitalized late Friday, officials said. The unidentified man was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, Indian River County sheriff's spokesman Maj. Eric Flowers said.
