Arnold B. Kleine, 80, Vero Beach

Arnold B. Kleine, 80, died May 2, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

He was born in Queens, N.Y., and lived in this area for 48 years, coming from Miami. Before retiring, he was a design engineer for Piper Aircraft Co. for more than 40 years.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of the University of Miami Alumni Association.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alice M. Kleine; daughter, Melissa Mickelson, of Benicia, Calif.; sons, Arnold D. Kleine, of Orlando and Anthony J. Kleine, of Winter Park; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to any veteran’s charity.

Arrangements are by All County Funeral Home & Crematory Treasure Coast Chapel.

Community Development Department closes in-person services

The Community Development Department closed in-person services Monday as county officials implement more health precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Officials plan to add more physical barriers to the front counters inside the building, which already has temperature scanners installed. County employees and those who visit county facilities are already required to wear masks inside. County Administrator Jason Brown was not immediately available to confirm reports that six employees in the Community Development Department tested positive for the virus.
