Atlantic Classical Orchestra Receives Transformative $1 Million Pledge to Endowment

VERO BEACH, FL — The Atlantic Classical Orchestra (ACO) is proud to announce a landmark $1 million donation from Robert & Janet Hoffman to its Legacy Endowment campaign. This transformative pledge marks a pivotal moment in the ACO’s mission to provide orchestral music of the highest artistic quality along with educational programming to Treasure Coast communities.

This extraordinary commitment ensures the long-term financial stability of the orchestra, allowing it to expand its artistic reach and deepen its roots within the region.

Securing a Musical Future

This fall, the ACO quietly launched its Legacy campaign to raise an additional $3million to bring its endowment to $5million and ensure that orchestral music remains a vibrant part of the local cultural landscape long into the future. With the $1million commitment from Robert & Janet Hoffman, the ACO has surpassed the mid-point for the campaign.

“This is more than just a donation; it is a profound vote of confidence in the power of music to unite and inspire,” said David Amado, Music Director of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra. “This gift allows us to dream bigger and ensure that the ACO remains a vibrant source of joy and connection for the Treasure Coast for many years to come.”

A Legacy of Impact

Robert Hoffman served as Chair of the ACO Board for three years from 2019-2022. He and his wife, Janet, have a deep commitment to the ACO’s unique role in the Treasure Coast communities. Their hope is that this contribution serves as a “matching challenge” to inspire other philanthropists to invest in the future of the orchestra. “It is unusual for communities the size of Vero Beach and Stuart have a fully professional orchestra, especially one of this caliber.” stated Mr. Hoffman. “Janet and I invite others who value this exceptional orchestra to join us in making a commitment to its future. We want others to have the confidence that their support will produce long-term dividends and keep our orchestra playing.”

“We are incredibly moved by this level of generosity,” stated Barbara Pinaire, Chair of the ACO Board of Directors. “In an era where the arts face constant challenges, this $1 million investment acts as a powerful reminder that the community values the beauty and sophistication the ACO brings to our lives.” To honor the Hoffman’s, ACO is naming its new endowment effort the Hoffman Legacy Fund.
