Pastor Raymond Eston “Buddy” Johns, 71, died March 28, 2011, at Sebastian River Medical Center.
He was a lifetime resident of Fellsmere.
Before retirement, he worked for Piper Aircraft for 46 years.
He was a member and pastor of First Baptist Church of Fellsmere for 37 years; the founder of Fellsmere Y Teens, Fellsmere Southern Gospel Youth Choir and Singing Prophets Quartet; the president of Fellsmere Water Control; and a member of the Sebastian Masonic Lodge and the Grange in Fellsmere.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda F. Johns, of Fellsmere; son, David Johns, of Fellsmere; daughter, Kelly Yates, of Fellsmere; sisters, Vivian Fendley, of Vero Beach, Maggie Yates, of Fellsmere and Martha Daigneau, of Roseland; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fellsmere, 107 N. Magnolia St., Fellsmere, FL 32948.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. March 31 at First Baptist Church of Fellsmere.
A service will be at 11 a.m. April 1 at First Baptist Church of Fellsmere with the Rev. William Ruehman Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Fellsmere Brookside Historic Cemetery.
