J. Stanley Sheridan, of Vero Beach

J. Stanley Sheridan, of Vero Beach, died March 13, 2011.

Sheridan grew up in Forrest Hills, N.Y., and was a graduate of both Fordham School of Business and Fordham School of Law.

He spent over 30 years as Director of International Banking and legal counsel for the U.S. Patents Department at American Cyanamid Corporation in Wayne, New Jersey.

Prior to that, Stan served in World War II as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force.

While raising their family in Franklin Lakes, N.J., Sheridan spent many hours volunteering for Most Blessed Catholic Church and other local civic organizations.

Sheridan spent 19 years as a volunteer for the Samaritan Center, as well as many other organizations, such as the Knights of Columbus.

Stan was a devoted Catholic and member of Holy Cross Parish.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen; children Mark, Sue Ellen, Michael, Jean, Amy; and eight grandchildren.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on March 16, 2011 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 500 Iris Lane, Vero Beach, Fl 32963.
