Indian River Charter High shines in state dance, Spanish competitions

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – Indian River Charter High School students are taking March by storm with a pair of state wins in dance and Spanish.

Two weeks in a row, students have brought home wins in two different statewide competitions. It started with the Indian River Charter High Dance Team taking first place at the “I Love Dance” competition in Orlando.

With little time to prep, the team came together, even practicing only an hour before their performance. The dancers proudly came out on top in the Jazz/Hip Hop division.

The IRCHS Spanish Team took part in 24 competitions at the Florida State Spanish Conference in Orlando, March 11 and 12, for the first time in school history.

Students loved the experience and represented IRCHS in Charter fashion with respect, character, and great effort. Students proudly brought home 10 outstanding, 12 superior and two excellent ratings.

The Spanish Team, comprised of 16 students, is already making plans for an even better appearance next year.
