VERO BEACH — On Tuesday, February 15, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in concert at the Community Church of Vero Beach. Presented by the Indian River Symphonic Association, this concert is the fifth in this year’s series of seven concerts. The orchestra is on a tour of 18 U.S. cities, the first U.S. tour by any symphonic orchestra from the African continent. The performance will begin at 7:30 PM, at the Community Church of Vero Beach. Martin Panteleev, who will conduct the orchestra, is a native of Sofia, Bulgaria, who began his violin studies at the age of four. He has gained international renown as a violinist, conductor and composer, winning several international prizes for his compositions.
The violin soloist for this evening’s performance will be Philippe Quint, born in Russia but now a citizen of the U.S. Mr. Quint will perform the Korngold Violin Concerto in D Major. His recording of this piece received four Grammy nominations.

Barber – Adagio for Strings
Rimsky-Korsakov – Scheherazade, Op. 35
