Sebastian celebrates Christmas Eve in the Park

SEBASTIAN – The cool evening air off the Indian River Lagoon set the perfect mood for some 300-plus attending Christmas Eve at Riverview Park in Sebastian.

Hot cocoa and baked goods greeted park goers wearing sweaters, coats, and hats.

The giant brightly lit Christmas tree made a perfect backdrop for the reading of The Christmas Story by Pastor Seth Goldsmith of Coastal Community Church.

Christmas carols rang out through the park, led by Nathan Goldsmith on the guitar with Jackie Coon, Leslie McCarty and Linda Bass.

Much work went into this festive community gathering by many of Coastal Community Church’s congregation.

The youngest attendees gathered around Mary Ann Hilton as she read Twas the Night Before Christmas to add to their anticipation of the special visitor from the North Pole, Santa Claus himself.

“Coastal Community Church loves creating great community events like this,” Pastor Goldsmith said. “We’re so thrilled that so many of our friends and neighbors came out here to celebrate Christmas Eve in the Park. The event was a huge success and we look forward to doing it again next year.”
