VERO BEACH — The Vero Beach Museum of Art 2011 travel season begins Friday, January 21 with a visit to the Palm Beach County Convention Center for one of the nation’s most prestigious art fairs, Art Palm Beach, which attracted more than 20,000 visitors last year. Fairgoers will find artwork by modern masters, contemporary artists, noted photographers, prestigious sculptors, and renowned glass artists, with over 70 U.S. and international galleries exhibiting.
We will enjoy dinner at the Il Belaggio, and afterwards attend an evening performance of Christoph Willibald Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice at the Kravis Center. Considered one the most important 18th-century operas, Orfeo risks it all to travel to the underworld to bring back his wife, Euridice, from the dead. Witness the power of love over death in this classic tale from Greek mythology.
The cost is $250 per person, or $220 with an ASFTA member discount.
