Menger, Binney, and Mantle win National Exchange Club awards

VERO BEACH — Eric Menger, president of Florida District Exchange Clubs, received a special Presidential Award for outstanding performance as a District president at the 92nd Annual National Exchange Club Convention in La Quinta, California. National President Claude Carmack presented the award.

Menger, who is a past president and member of the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast, also received an award for bringing ten new members into Exchange. He is manager of Vero Beach Municipal Airport. The Florida District won a total of 25 National awards for individual, club, and district-wide achievements. The District also won the national organization’s EDIT Award for Best District Bulletin in a District with 800+ members for The Florida Exchangite. Jan J. Binney, member of Exchange Club of Indian River, is editor of The Exchangite and the District’s Public Relations chair.

Holly Mantle, 2009-2010 president of the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast, was the only Exchange Club president in Florida to win the Distinguished Club President Award. Mantle is senior partner and owner of the Law Offices of Holly A. Mantle, P.A. in Vero Beach. Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast also won the Big “E” award. The Big “E” honors clubs who demonstrate excellence in expansion and extension of membership, efficiency of operations, and education of the public.

All five Exchange Clubs in Indian River County earned the National Service Award (NSA). These clubs include Exchange Club of Fellsmere, Exchange Club of Indian River, Exchange Club of Sebastian, Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast, and Exchange Club of Vero Beach. The NSA recognizes achievement in Americanism, Child Abuse Prevention, Community Service, programs for Youth, and additional service projects.

Florida District Exchange Clubs are part of National Exchange Club, an all-volunteer, national service organization made up of 700 clubs and more than 22,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Known as America’s Service Club, Exchange will celebrate its 100th anniversary in March 2011.
