Inez Turner Dawsey, 86, of Vero Beach, died Saturday Oct. 9, 2010, in Vero Beach.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1924, in Shorterville, Ala. She has been a resident of Indian River County since 1945, coming from Alabama.
She was a member of First Born Church of The Living God where she served as mother of the church.
Survivors include her sons, Rich H. Dawsey, of Los Angeles, Calif., Tommie Dawsey, of Port Saint Lucie; Woodrow F. Dawsey, of Vero Beach; daughters, Blondell Gordon, of Melbourne, Vermel (Richard) Sanders, of Orlando; sisters, Ira, of St. Petersburg, Eva, of Baltimore, Md.; a host of grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Saul Dawsey, parents, James and Sarah Mays Turner, brothers, Ruben Turner, J.C. Turner, sisters, Daisy and Frances.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m Saturday, Oct. 16, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Vero Beach. Burial was held on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
