Elva “Tex” Turner-Glenn, 87, died Sept. 10, 2010, at her home in Salisbury, N.C.
She was born in Wellington, Texas, and lived in Vero Beach since 1957. She was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II.
She served as the school secretary at Vero Beach Elementary and later owned Vero Travel Service.
She was active in the Indian River Hospital Auxiliary, Indian River schools, Environmental Learning Center and Indian River Visiting Nurse Association hospice care program.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her sons, William Ray Turner, of Houston and Richard Harrison Turner, of Salisbury; daughter, Leona Sue Turner, of Salisbury; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Turner and Matthew Glenn.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 15 at First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach, with the Rev. Timothy Womack officiating.
A reception will follow the service.
