Rebecca B. Colton, 57, died Sept. 24, 2010, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
She was born in Wheeling, W.Va., and lived in Vero Beach for 44 years, coming from Shadyside, Ohio. She was a 1971 graduate of Vero Beach High School and a 1975 graduate of Stetson University, earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration.
She was a CPA in Vero Beach. In 1986, she established the firm, Rebecca B. Colton, CPA, now known as Colton and Williams, PA.
She was Miss Vero Beach in 1972. She was co-chair of the United Way of Indian River County.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce; sons, Michael Colton, of Fort Pierce, Greg Colton and Sam Colton, both of Vero Beach, and Banks Colton, of Seminole; daughter, Paige Colton, of Vero Beach; mother, Mary Burkhardt, of Vero Beach; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard O. Burkhardt; and brother, Richard M. Burkhardt.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sept. 30 at Community Church, Vero Beach, with the Rev. Casey G. Baggott officiating.
