VERO BEACH — Riverside Children’s Theatre announces auditions for “The Nutcracker: In Swing Time,” choreographed by Adam Schnell. Auditions will be held Saturday, August 28 at the Agnes Wahlstrom Youth Playhouse, and are open to Riverside Dance Conservatory students as well as students of other dance schools.
Riverside’s Dance Conservatory is pleased to be the only dance company in the country to produce this version of The Nutcracker set to an original jazz/swing score initially toured by the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Local dance students ages 6 years and up will present four performances of this new classic in the Anne Morton Theatre December 10 through 12.
Audition times are as follows: 10 am ages 6 and 7; 12 pm. for ages 8 to 10; 2 pm for ages 11 to 13, and 4 pm for those 14 years and up.
Rehearsals will be held Friday afternoons and Saturdays beginning September 10
There is no charge to audition, but there will be a costume rental fee.
