VERO BEACH – A derelict boat was raised from it’s watery grave today. Work crews were able, on the second try, to find a part of the boat sturdy enough to pull it from the water.
“They did it last night on Whale Wars so we think we can do it, too,” said Capt. Donald Voss from Marine Cleanup Initiative, Inc.
The boat was pulled to shore around the area near the off-leash dog park at MacWilliams Park under the Barber Bridge.
People in the park stood and watched the event as others rode up on bikes during their daily ride.
“That’s a good sized boat,” said Eddie Grandal from his bicycle.
