Alzada ‘Sadie’ Clark-Hinton, 82, Vero Beach

Alzada “Sadie” Clark-Hinton, 82, died April 2, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.

She was born in Quincy and was a longtime resident of Indian River County. She was a retired cook from the Vero Beach Country Club.

She was a member of Allen Chapel AME Church, Wabasso.

Survivors include her sons, Eugene Hinton, Mathew Hinton, John Hinton and Reginald Jones, all of Wabasso; daughters, Diane H. Wallace of Pensacola, Patricia Brooks of Wabasso, Marion Hinton of Sebastian and Netty Spiles of Gifford; stepdaughters, Florine Smothers and Corine Smothers; stepson, Alphonso Smothers; sisters, Vonceal Johnson of Quincy and Annie Reed of Daytona Beach; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hazel Lee Hinton; and daughter, Maryann Armstrong.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. April 9 at St. Mathew’s Missionary Baptist Church, Wabasso. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. April 10 at St. Matthew’s Missionary Baptist Church, Wabasso. Burial will follow at Wabasso Cemetery.
