Leo McDew, 71, died March 31, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Douglas, Ga., and moved to Vero Beach more than 50 years ago. Before retirement, he was a machine operator for the Press Journal and worked odd jobs throughout his life.
Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth McDew Buck; companion, Diane Schofield; sons, Willie L. McDew Jr., Brian McDew and Johnny McGriff, all of Vero Beach; daughters, Kimberly McDew, Karen McDew and Cheryl McDew, all of Vero Beach; sisters, Carrie Brunson and Lenora Dupree, both of Vero Beach, and Marjorie Billups of Rochester, N.Y.; brothers, Ozell McDew of Rochester, and Arthur Dupre Sr. and Marvin Dupre, both of Vero Beach; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ana Alicia McDew.

A service will be at 11 a.m. April 10 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Vero Beach. A meal will follow at the home of Elizabeth Buck, Vero Beach.
