INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — The Senior Resource Association has funds available, through the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP), to assist financially eligible people, age 60 and older, who are experiencing an energy-related crisis.  A crisis may be a household without electricity, a past-due or shut-off notice for utility services.

Program applicants must present proof of the following for assistance:

At least one household member 60 years of age or older;

A disconnect or final shut-off notice from their energy provider;

Gross annual household income may not exceed $16,245 for one person, $21,855 for two people, or $5,610 for each additional person in the household; and,

In addition, the applicant may not have received LIHEAP energy assistance during the same heating/cooling season, and must be a legal U.S. resident.  There is a limit to the assistance provided.
