VERO BEACH — The Indian River County 4-H Dog Master Club will hold an Agility Dog Show on Saturday March 6 at 10:30 a.m. The show will be held at the Dogs For Life, Inc. Off-Leash Dog Park at 12th Street and 16th Avenue.

Cost to participate in the “Fun Run” is $10. Spectators charge is $2. Bring your lawn chairs and prepare to have fun. Dogs allowed on leash.

Proceeds will benefit the 4-H Dog Masters Club community service and scholarship program.

4-H prepares members to become leaders of our community and our nation, provide services to the community, and perform public speaking. The 4-H motto is “Learn By Doing.”

A reminder from the Indian River Neighborhood Association to residents of Indian River County, City of Vero Beach, Sebastian and Orchid. We are coming into our rainy season when more nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorous are likely to be washed from our lawns, driveways and roads into the storm water system and, ultimately, into our local waterways such as the Indian River Lagoon. The fertilizer ordinances passed by our communities goes into effect June 1st. It prohibits the use of lawn fertilizer between June 1st and September 30th. Roger Stone will speak about 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the monthly meeting for the Republican Club of Indian River County, club President Frank Sosta said. Neighbor accused of spraying dogs with ant killer

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 75-year-old woman suspected of spraying her neighbor's two dogs with ant killer in a residential backyard, was arrested last week, authorities said. A second neighbor saw the woman - identified as Carol Watt - walk up to the fence and spray both dogs in the face repeatedly, reports show. The neighbor told deputies he saw Watt antagonize the pets in the past by sticking her hands between the fence and kicking the fence to get the dogs' attention. The animals were a 2-year-old German Shepherd and a 14-year-old Doberman, authorities said.
