US Navy Armed Guard, Merchant Marine vets to meet Jan. 16

FELLSMERE — The US Navy Armed Guard & Merchant Marine veterans of World War II will have their meeting Saturday Jan. 16 at 9 a.m. at Marsh Landing Restaurant, 44 N. Broadway,

Fellsmere. Everyone is welcome.

The featured speaker will be WWII US Navy Wave Ronnie Hulick, from Fort Pierce. She will speak on her experience as a Wave in wartime. “She said if we are good to her she will sing some old time songs from that time,” organizers said.

The four Chaplains memorial service will be held at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, at 13075

US 1, Sebastian, on Feb. 28 at 3 p.m.

“Let’s have a good showing of US Navy Armed Guard & US Merchant Marine. We will need two members to carry the two flags, USNAG & US MM,” organizers said.

The speaker for the Feb. 20 breakfast will be Jim Coker, a B-17 pilot with 30 missions over

Germany in WWII.
