Helen “Big Helen” Failor, 86, Sebastian

Helen “Big Helen” Failor, 86, passed away Jan. 3, 2010 after a brief illness at her home in Sebastian.

She married Andy Failor in 1948 and worked various factory jobs and in 1959, gave birth to a daughter, Helen Ann.

A natural-born caregiver, while raising her own family, Helen also worked as a nanny for other families.

Upon moving to Sebastian in 1991, she joined the Polish American Club and continued her passion for dancing.

She is survived by her daughter, Helen DiBenedetto; son-in- law, Chris; grandchildren, Joelle and Corey; step-daughter, Andrea Royce and her husband, Dan; step-grandchildren, Kevin and Andrew; beloved brother, John Nedimyer and his wife, Nadja; step-grandchildren, Cheryl Chaffee and her husband, Tim; step-great-grandchildren, Will and Thom Chaffee.

She was predeceased by her husband Andy Failor.

A private celebration of her life is being planned for the spring. A guest book may be signed at strunk funeral.com.
